Vince is introduced as the leader of the Right Arm, a resistance group based in the mountains. When the Gladers and their companions arrive at the Right Arm's mountain outpost, Vince immediately threatens to shoot Brenda after noticing her Crank bite, but Mary Cooper intervenes and stops him. Later, during WCKD's attack on the outpost, Vince and the Right Arm are quickly overpowered by soldiers, who round up survivors. After Jorge creates a distraction, Thomas detonates a bomb, scattering WCKD's forces and allowing the Right Arm to drive them off.

In Their Own Story

Vince stood at the entrance of the mountain outpost, his eyes scanning the newcomers with suspicion. When he spotted the bite on Brenda's arm, his hand moved to his weapon. 'She's infected,' he said flatly. 'We can't risk it.' Mary Cooper stepped forward, blocking his aim. 'She's still human, Vince. We have a way to slow it.' Reluctantly, he lowered the gun but kept his distance. Later, when WCKD soldiers swarmed the camp, Vince barked orders to his people, trying to hold the line. But the soldiers were too many. As Jorge yelled for Thomas to blow the bomb, Vince grabbed a wounded rebel and dragged her toward the tunnel, shouting, 'Fall back! We regroup!'
